Coffee Time!

We're perkin' up the coffee and getting ready for a morning's delight at the Lavender Field for Feed a Smile. Two very talented musicians will be performing today - and I can hardly wait...

Absolutely amazing
- after 3 days of hard work and plenty of days of preparation beforehand - the Booyaka Dream Team raised 191,350 Lindens - which is equal to 1,913 meals for the kids in Kenya!!! To top it off, they don't want to stop there... They are already planning their next Feed a Smile event :)
Thank you - asante sana. You people - and all of your guests - rock!!!

There’s more at the door....

Thursday afternoon at the Lavender Field will be very special. Aminius, Lyric Serendipity, Dubhna and Twostep will be performing this 4-hour event. And Friday and Saturday will be totally different when the Tattooed 4 Food event begins at the LA sim. But more about that tomorrow....

Come - enjoy - and BE the difference!

...AND THE AMAZEMENT GOES ON!

If I thought I was amazed yesterday – well I’m stunned today. What better way is there to wake up in Europe and find that people were partying and donating the night away in Second Life as I unknowingly slept??? And donate they did – 127,950 Lindens have been donated during the event since Saturday. That’s 3 full days of meals for all of the kids on the Live and Learn in Kenya Int’l program.
The event goes on today, starting at 12PM slt – and going on until 2AM!!!
What a dream team!. Here’s the Slurl:

Two awesome musicians will be playing for meals at the Lavender Field on Tuesday morning starting at 10AM with Ronnie Mayes and then David Perdu. What a way to start the day...

What a super event!

Starting off with Kaycee and Wanna, the Lavender Field was filled with lovely love songs and happy people. GuitarMan didn't show up for some reason, so Laura Savio jumped onstage an hour earlier and ended up singing her awesome songs for over two hours. The crowd wouldn't let her stop... It was fun the way she walked around the dance floor singing.

All in all we took in funds for 116 meals - and made lots of new and generous friends as nearly all of the 31 guests at the Lavender Field yesterday were there for the first time.

Don't forget the two awesome events going on this weekend for Feed a Smile!

And the fun begins at Oopsee's Booyaka Openstage at 8 AM today - and goes on for hours and hours - and then starts again tomorrow at 12 noon - and goes on for hours and hours - and the starts again on Monday - and goes on for hours and hours and hours...
Youngsta and Frontline really have a mission there!!! Not only will there be hours of super music - there will also be hours of awesome people dancing and having a great time.

The Crossing Culture event will be ending today with Oldwolf Criss LIVE from 2 to 4 PM - JoRed Macbeth LIVE Tango fro 5 to 6PM - and from 6PM till you drop (or he does...) with DJ Chris spinning Tangos... Let's dance :)

So, hope to see you this weekend.
The next concerts at the Lavender Field will be on Tuesday - so stay tuned for news about them. I can promise some awesome music....!
We are hoping to hit that 7 million Linden mark by Tuesday evening.
That 70 thousand meals for the kids in 2 years. How awesome is that?!

This weekend is filled with music and lots of Feed a Smile love. Youngsta and Frontline are on a mission to get our donation boards to as many venues as possible. So, we are moving along well and smiles are being fed. If you have a venue and would like to promote Feed a Smile by putting up a donation board and/or organize an event - just let me know.

you have really missed a top event

Well, if you weren't one of the 72 people there, you have really missed a top event - but don't worry, you'll get your chance again....

Mike Carnell took the stage at 11Am followed by Aminius Writer and ChelseaM. Noel. After the concerts, Dubhna Rhiadra took her storyteller place at the Kenya House Campfire to weave her brilliant stories to a nice group of listeners. All artists performed to help raise fund to feed real meals to some very real and poor children in Kenya on the Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l program - and feed them they did... 133 meals were donated during this event. A huge thank you to all who participated.

You won't have to wait long for the next event. Chriscloud Loon and RAS have put a fabulous lineup together to celebrate the 2-year anniversary of Crossing Culture Project - and all of the proceeds will go to Feed a Smile. So, jazz up your avi and put on your dancing shoes - and get you coffee perkin'. The celebration lasts for 9 (yes, NINE) days.

The next event at the Lavender Field is scheduled for Monday the 23rd - but more about that later :)

...and the anniversary meals are still coming in!

Quinton Whitman and Zak Claxton’s concerts on Monday brought in another 80 meals for the kids. Thank Q and Zak!
Zak Claxton wrote a blog about his concert (read here)

The lovely Key West sim set up a donation board for Feed a Smile, and during the 2nd anniversary event took in 115 meals – and still counting.

It never ceases to amaze me how very generous people are when they know that their donations are going directly where they belong.

You won't want to miss this awesome event at the Lavender Field for Feed a Smile as Suzen Juel, Russell Eponym and Sassy-Nitely take the stage to help raise fund to feed some very poor children in Kenya.

What a weekend!

What a weekend! Celebration over celebration for Feed a Smile’s 2nd anniversary and the meals came rolling in...

Phoenix Viewer posted the Feed a Smile anniversary event at the Lavender Field on their greeting message – and voilà, so many new faces at the Lavender Field like never before. After 16 hours of live music at its best, we were able to smile at the proud sum of 117,305 Lindens – which means all of the kids on the Live and Learn in Kenya Int’l program will be receiving 3 full day of meals – and then some...

Angel’s Beach Club had an event going for Feed a Smile at the same time and took in 16,900 Linden – 169 meals for the kids.

Brews and Blues had a tribute event in honor of Kelvinblue Oh’s passing last year and took in donations for 154 meals.

All in all – with donations coming in from The Virtual Live Band concert on Friday, donation boards at Key West, Menstuff/Womenstuff Lounge, Deviant, Booyaka!

The colour Factory, Lion, Nudist Paradise, House of Arts and Atlanta the weekend’s activities means 1,768 meals for the kids – that’s 3 1/2 days of meals for all of the kids. How awesome is that.

And there are plenty of event to follow.

There is an event at the Lavender Field today with Quinton Whitman and Zak Claxton starting at 2PM.

Booyaka! Is planning a huge 2-day charity event for Feed a Smile starting on the 29th called FEED THE KIDS EVENT.

LA is planning another huge event on August 3rd – all to celebrate the anniversary.

Well – we won’t stop there – so stay tuned to the new blogspot updates coming your way.

Have a happy,

2nd Feed-a-Smile Anniverary

...AND THE CELEBRATION BEGINS...

Feed a Smile turns 2 - and not the terrible twos but the Teneacious Twos -
because we're sure holding on tight and working our way through the grid and
into the minds and memories of every person that we come across in Second
Life.

To date we've raised funds to feed over 65.000 meals to very poor kids
on the Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l project in Kenya.
LLK feeds the kids on a daily basis - so Second Life has played a major part in supporting this
non-profit charity organization. A full meal for a child only costs 100 Lindens.

A SPECTACULAR LIVE MUSIC EVENT
Friday the 13th of July - starting at 4am SLT

17 of some of Second Life's best musicians will be singing "Happy Birthday Feed a Smile" in their own special way - and you're invited to the celebration. Come and enjoy 16 hours of live music at its best and BE the difference. 100% of the donations go directly to Kenya to feed the kids. We want to hit 70.000 meals by the end of the day.

16 hours live entertainment with 17 musician live on stage
